Meeting at Sahel Al-Jaba to discuss local revenue challenges

As part of the "ISAL" program aimed at enhancing local service delivery and reinforcing accountability, the Eastern Region Working Group held a meeting on Sunday,24 July 2022, with Mr. Younes Abdelshafi, Mayor of Sahel Al-Jabal Municipality, along with municipal council members and key administrative officials. The discussion focused on the ongoing delay in opening the municipal revenue account and the challenges in revenue collection under the local revenue regulation. The meeting was conducted within the framework of the Advocacy Initiatives program on “Strategic Planning for Public Policies Aimed at Service Delivery,” implemented under the ISAL project with support from Democracy Reporting International (DRI). The project is funded by the European Union and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and carried out by VNG International and CILG-VNG International.
