Workshop in Riqdalin on the Role of Planning in Local Developmen

On 20 July 2022, the Western Region team organised a workshop in Raqdalin Municipality on the role of planning in local development, under the title "Advocacy Campaign for the Study Recommendations on Strategic Policy Planning". The workshop was attended by Mayor Ali Abdul Samad, members of the Municipal Council, the Projects Office, and office staff, and the attendance exceeded expectations. The workshop was moderated by Dr Abdulnasser Al Falah, where participants discussed the obstacles facing the municipality in activating the Strategic Planning Office and ways to overcome them. The outcomes of the study and the importance of its recommendations to enhance local planning were also reviewed. This workshop is part of the "Receipt" project, implemented by VNG International and CILG-VNG International, in cooperation with the International Democracy Reporting Organisation (DRI), with the support of the European Union and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
